Donations to ESCRS Now Tax-Deductible in Germany and Spain
ESCRS is pleased to announce that donations to the Society can now be made in a tax-deductible way from Germany and Spain, making it easier for individuals and organisations to support ESCRS educational, research and charitable activities.
In Germany, donations to ESCRS can be made through the Maecenata Foundation, while in Spain they can be made through Fundación Empresa y Sociedad, both members of the Giving Europe network.
Giving Europe was established in 1995 to enable, improve and facilitate cross-border philanthropy in Europe. Today, the network spans 19 countries and enables both individuals and organisations to support charitable causes across borders while benefiting from the tax advantages available in their country of residence. Through its partner organisations, Giving Europe also provides professional due diligence to ensure supported charities meet the required standards.
ESCRS is also pursuing similar arrangements in other European countries, where available.
As one of the world's leading ophthalmic societies, ESCRS is committed to advancing education and research in cataract and refractive surgery. Donations are used in support of these activities and therefore contribute to the Society's mission of improving patient care through excellence in ophthalmology.
Anyone interested in making a donation to ESCRS is encouraged to contact the ESCRS Head Office by email: ESCRS@ESCRS.ORG, who can then provide guidance on the most appropriate donation route based on the donor's country of residence.
