Purpose

To evaluate the clinical outcomes and safety of PRESBYOND laser blended vision for presbyopia correction in patients with previous LASIK surgery.

Setting

Apgujeong Eye Clinic, Seoul, South Korea

Methods

This retrospective case series included 9 patients (16 eyes) with previous LASIK surgery who underwent PRESBYOND laser blended vision for presbyopia correction. Depending on surgical conditions, flap lifting or surface ablation was performed. Uncorrected distance (UDVA), intermediate (UIVA), and near visual acuity (UNVA) were evaluated preoperatively and postoperatively. Patients were followed for up to 12 months.

Results

Nine patients (16 eyes) were included. Preoperative UDVA, UIVA, and UNVA were 0.30, 0.20, and 0.35 logMAR, respectively. At 12 months, mean binocular UDVA, UIVA, and UNVA were 0.12, 0.15, and 0.04 logMAR, respectively. Eight of nine patients (89%) achieved binocular UDVA of 0.1 logMAR or better, while all patients (9/9, 100%) achieved binocular UIVA and UNVA of 0.1 logMAR or better. No enhancement procedures were required, and no flap-related complications or vision-threatening adverse events were observed during follow-up.

Conclusions

PRESBYOND laser blended vision appears to be a safe and effective option for presbyopia correction in post-LASIK eyes, providing functional binocular vision across multiple distances.
