Purpose
To evaluate preoperative characteristics, indications, safety, predictability, accuracy and visual outcomes of EVO ICL (STAAR Surgical) implantation in patients with low to moderate myopia.
Setting
Pallikaris department of refractive surgery, Asian Eye Hospital, A Tertiary Care Eye Hospital, Pune, India
Methods
This retrospective analytical study was conducted at a tertiary private ophthalmology center. A total of 361 eyes of patients aged 20–50 years with spherical equivalents ranging from −1.00 D to −6.00 D underwent EVO ICL implantation. Data were analyzed on preoperative parameters, indications for choosing ICL over corneal laser refractive surgery, and postoperative outcomes including refractive predictability, safety, stability, intraocular pressure (IOP), and vault, with a follow-up of up to one year.
Results
Conclusions
This is probabaly the largest series reporting EVO ICL outcomes in low to moderate myopia globally. The results demonstrate excellent visual acuity, high safety and efficacy indices of EVO ICL in patients with or without unsuitable corneal charactistics.
