Purpose
To evaluate the accuracy of refractive prediction using an Argos biometer with Alcon image guidance in post-myopic LASIK patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Setting
Taiwan Nobel Eye Institude
Methods
This prospective study included 60 eyes implanted with Clareon™ Aspheric or Toric IOLs. The Barrett True-K Toric calculator was used. Primary endpoints were mean absolute error (MAE) and percentage of eyes within ±0.50 D at 1 month. Secondary endpoints included residual astigmatism within ±0.25, ±0.50, ±0.75, and ±1.00 D, refractive prediction error (RPE) within ±0.25, ±0.50, ±0.75, and ±1.00 D, and visual acuity (BCDVA and DCIVA).
Results
Interim analysis of 20 eyes showed MAE of 0.56 ± 0.58 D. 70% of eyes achieved RPE within ±0.50 D. Residual astigmatism within ±0.25 D, ±0.50 D, ±0.75 D, and ±1.00 D was 40%, 65%, 75%, and 90%, respectively. RPE within ±0.25 D, ±0.50 D, ±0.75 D, and ±1.00 D was 45%, 70%, 80%, and 80%. BCDVA and DCIVA were 0.03 ± 0.065 logMAR and 0.21 ± 0.10 logMAR.
Conclusions
The Argos biometer demonstrates promising accuracy for IOL power calculation in post-myopic LASIK eyes. Further data collection is ongoing.
