Purpose
To evaluate the optical, functional outcomes and patients satisfaction after Implantation of sinusoidal trifocal IOL bilaterally after Phacoemulsification.
Setting
Eye clinic Cham, Janahof 2, 93413 Cham, Germany
Methods
In prospective case study from December 2024 until December 2025
we implanted after phacoemulsification through 2,4 mm incision in 40 eyes of 20 patients.
We evaluated the postoperative uncorrected (UCVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) for distance, distance corrected intermediate and near visual acuity. The follow up was three months after implantation. The quality of vision, glare, halos and the personal satisfaction of the patients was assessed with a validated questionnaire.
Results
The mean UCVA for distance 3 months post-OP was 0,82 the BCVA 0,9.Mean DCVA for intermediate 3 months post-OP was 0,8, for near 0,8.
The average glare score was 22 and halos score was 28 from maximal score of 100 for all patients, none of the patients complained about blurred vision, asking under mesopic light conditions. All patients were satisfied with the optical and functional results.
Conclusions
The new Enova Maestra provides excellent visual results for distance, intermediate and the near. All the patients were satisfied with the achieved results.
