Purpose
To evaluate light and spectacle dependence, quality of vision, patient satisfaction after bilateral implantation of a non-diffractive, hydrophilic multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) with spiral optics: RayOne Galaxy® (Rayner, Worthing, UK) in Filipino patients at 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after cataract surgery and to investigate the role of ocular surface health in over-all functioning and quality of vision
Setting
Prospective, single-surgeon, single-center study at the Eye and Vision Institute, The Medical City, Manila, Philippines
Methods

Conclusions
Patients bilaterally implanted with the RayOne Galaxy® IOL have low light and spectacle dependence for distance and near activities, minimal levels of dysphotopsia, and high over-all satisfaction. Furthermore, general improvement in functioning and quality of vision is observed from 1 month to 6 months after surgery which may be attributed to better ocular surface health in addition to neural adaptation.
