Methods
This retrospective, non-randomised, monocentric study analysed the efficacy and safety of combined implantation of ArtIOL® 40 and ArtIOL® 70 (Voptica, SL, Spain) and AcrySof IQ Vivity® (Alcon Deutschland GmbH). A total of 10 patients were included in each group. The patients were identified from the clinic's own patient population on the basis of surgical reports. Follow-up examinations were performed at least three months postoperatively and included refraction and monocular and binocular visual acuity at distance, intermediate and near.
Results
Preoperative spherical equivalent was +1.45 ± 0.70 D in the ArtIOL® group and +0.23 ± 1.41 D in the AcrySof IQ Vivity® group. Preoperatively, CDVA was 20/20 or better in 90% of eyes in both groups. At 3 months, 75% of ArtIOLs® eyes were within ±0.50 D and 100% within ±1.00 D of the refractive target. Binocular UDVA was 20/20 or better in 90% and at least 20/25 in all patients. Binocular UIVA was ≥20/25 in 90% and UNVA was 20/20 in 80% and ≥20/25 in 90%, . In the Vivity® group, 70% achieved UDVA 20/20 and 90% ≥20/25. Binocular UIVA ≥20/25 in 90% and UNVA was 20/20 in 50% and ≥20/25 in 80%. All Vivity® eyes were within ±0.50 D of refractive target.
