Purpose

To compare the visual and subjective outcomes for of four IOLs (Rayner Rayone Galaxy and Galaxy Toric, Hoya Geometric, J&J Puresee and Puresee Toric and Rayner RayOne EMV and EMV Toric) all with some level of extended focus but different mechanisms of action

Setting

All surgeries to be performed by one surgeon at Anil Eye Hospital, Dombivili, Maharastra, India

Methods

60 patients / 120 eyes will undergo cataract surgery and receive one of the four evaluated IOLs, 15 patients / 30 eyes per group.

Postoperative visual outcomes, including subjective refraction and monocular and binocular uncorrected and best-corrected distance, intermediate, and near visual acuities, will be assessed
Follow-up measurements will be recorded at two weeks, one month and three months postoperatively.
Contrast sensitivity (Pelli-Robson) to be measured at three month visit.
Dysphotopsia will be assessed using a halo and glare questionnaire at all three post-op visits.

Results

This study is ongoing, implantations have started but outcomes data is not yet available. Three-month outcomes will be available by July and analysis available prior to ESCRS congress 2026.
