Purpose

To observe the consistency of four instruments in femtosecond laser-assisted corneal astigmatism correction surgery

Setting

Lixiang Eye Hospital of Soochow University

Methods

Forty eyes of 31 patients with 1.0-3.5 D cataract combined with corneal astigmatism were selected as the study subjects. All patients underwent femtosecond laser combined with phacoemulsification and corneal release incision for astigmatism correction. Computer refraction, IOL-Master700, OPD ScanIII, and Pentacam HR were examined before surgery and at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after surgery.

Results

The HR of Pentacam, IOL-Master700, and OPD ScanIII were highly consistent and positively correlated (r >0.7). IOL Master700 showed the highest agreement with the other three devices.

Conclusions

Due to the great impact of astigmatism on visual quality, IOL Master700 may be the first choice if corneal astigmatism correction surgery is performed. In the case of limited economic conditions, the computer optometry machine is also an option.
