Purpose

To compare the integrity, roundness and diameter of femtosecond laser and traditional phacoemulsification capsulotomy for white cataract.

Setting

Lixiang Eye Hospital of Soochow University

Methods

To observe the surgical effect of all-white cataract. Among them, 100 patients underwent femtosecond assisted phacoemulsification, and the other 100 patients underwent traditional phacoemulsification

Results

Most patients in the femtosecond group obtained complete avulsion. Secondary capsulorhexis occurred in 10 of 100 eyes. 3 Tear of anterior capsule. In the traditional phacoemulsification group, 49 eyes had secondary capsulorhexis, and 15 eyes had anterior capsulorhexis. The mean diameter of the lens capsule was 5.4mm in the femtosecond group, and increased from 4mm to 6 mm in the conventional phacoemulsification group.

Conclusions

Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery has high lens integrity and stable capsulorrhexis diameter. Compared with traditional cataract phacoemulsification, the time of capsulorhexis is significantly shorter, the amount of viscoelastic agent is significantly reduced, and the diameter of capsule tear is more controllable.
