Purpose

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical netarsudil/latanoprost fixed-dose combination compared with placebo in patients with pseudophakic bullous keratopathy (PBK) and coexisting glaucoma.

Setting

Dubrava University Hospital, Zagreb, Croatia; registered clinical trial (ClinicalTrials.gov:

NCT06960629)

Methods

This was a prospective, randomized, double-masked, placebo-controlled study. Patients with glaucoma and PBK were assigned to receive either topical netarsudil/latanoprost once daily (Group 1) or placebo (artificial tear substitute) once daily (Group 2) for 3 months. Visual acuity (VA) was measured using a Snellen chart and converted to logMAR for analysis. Central corneal thickness (CCT) was assessed using ultrasound pachymetry (Micro Medical Devices, Inc., CA, USA). Patients were examined every two weeks during the treatment period. Ocular adverse events were systematically recorded at each visit.Primary endpoint was change in CCT from baseline to month 3. Secondary endpoints included change in VA and incidence of adverse events.

Results

Data collection is ongoing. Final results will be available and presented at the time of the meeting.

Conclusions

This randomized controlled study is designed to provide prospective evidence on the role of ROCK inhibitor–based therapy in patients with PBK and glaucoma, a population with limited non-surgical treatment options. Final results are expected to inform the potential clinical utility and safety of netarsudil/latanoprost in this challenging setting.
