Purpose
To evaluate objective unaided distance, intermediate and near visual acuity outcomes after phakoemulsification and intraocular lens replacement with the Vivity increased range of focus implants, grouped by target refraction, including emmetropic, slightly myopic, and moderately myopic targets using mini-monovision strategies.
Setting
The study was conducted retrospectively in a private single-surgeon ophthalmology practice in South Wales, United Kingdom.
Methods
Results
In patients with emmetropic targets, 82.4% UDVA of 6/9 or better, with 93.8% achieving 6/12 or better. Intermediate visual acuity of 0.3 logMAR or better was achieved by ≥93.8% of eyes. 75.8% achieved near visual acuity of N10 or better.
Conclusions
Vivity intraocular lens implantation provides consistent distance and intermediate visual acuity across a range of target refractions. Myopic targeting used for mini-monovision appropriately exchanges distance acuity for improved near performance, supporting refractive targeting to meet required visual needs.
