Purpose

Decribe evaluation and technique to symblepharon in patient with prior surgery of pterigyum

Setting

A male 32 years old who was operated 8 years a go of pterigyum in rigth eye, and develeop adherence between eyball and inferior eyelid, with movements limited.

Methods

The patient was treated with surgery of ocular surface: adhesion release, conjunctivoplasty, mitomicin in the surgical bed, suture with nylon 10-0 in the limbus edge and close evaluation.

Results

At 15 months after surgery, the eye is free to adherences and movements without restriction.

Conclusion

Conjunctivoplasty plus mitomicin in bed surgical, is good option to treat sympblepharon
