Purpose

To study the changes of PSF, MTF and RMS in the preoperative and 1 month postoperative eye after phacoemulsification and trifocal intraocular lens implantation in patients with high myopia.

Setting

The emergence of trifocal intraocular lenses enables this part of the population to solve the problems of high myopia and presbyopia through surgery at one time, it is particularly important to analyze the quality of vision after surgery in patients with intraoperative multifocal intraocular lenses.

Methods

The pupils were dilated before and 1 month after surgery, and the 4mm pupil area was scanned with I-Trace. The values of PSF, MTF and RMS in the preoperative and 1 month postoperative eye were compared and analyzed. Statistical methods: The comparison of PSF-SR values, MTF-AH values and RMS advanced aberration values in intraocular, cornea and whole eye before and 1 month after surgery was treated with paired T-test, P<0.05 was regarded as a statistically significant difference between the two groups.

Results

there were significant differences in intraocular defocus (P=0.012), astigmatism (P=0.008), secondary astigmatism (P=0.025) and spherical aberration (P=0.001), corneal coma (P=0.044), and defocus (P=0.042) and spherical aberration (P=0.026) in the whole eye at one month after surgery and before surgery. compared with the preoperative period one month after surgery, the intraocular and whole-eye MTF-AH values were significantly increased without correcting refractive errors , At 1 month after operation, the intraocular and whole-eye MTH-AH values at various spatial frequencies (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30) were significantly higher than those before operation.

Conclusions

After transparent lens extraction combined with trifocal intraocular lens implantation, the visual quality of the naked eye after surgery in patients with high myopia is significantly higher than that of the preoperative naked eye in terms of the contour, level and detail of the object, mainly changed to defocus and spherical aberration, but the visual quality of the postoperative naked eye is lower than that of the preoperative full correction with glasses.
