Purpose
To report 3-month visual and refractive outcomes following PRESBYOND laser-blended vision (LBV).
Setting
Retrospective case series
Methods
Three-month visual and refractive outcomes between Feb 2024 and Nov 2024 in 30 patients treated with PRESBYOND laser-blended vision micro-anisometropia were analyzed retrospectively. Distance vison, intermediate vision (80cm, including DCIVA: distance-corrected intermediate visual acuity), and near vision (40cm, including DCNVA: distance-corrected near visual acuity) were recorded.
Results
Pre-op mean SE was -3.91 ± 2.96 D. Post-op: mean SE was -0.08 ± 0.39D in distance eyes and -1.33 ± 0.54D in near eyes. Mean binocular uncorrected near visual acuity (UCNVA) was 0.09 ± 0.12 logMAR (Snellen 0.82). Mean binocular UCDVA was 0.00 ± 0.04 logMAR (Snellen 1.01). Mean binocular UCIVA was -0.01 ± 0.09 logMAR (Snellen 1.02). Binocular DCIVA improved from 0.11 ± 0.12 logMAR (Snellen 0.78) to 0.04 ± 0.15 logMAR (Snellen 0.91) (p=0.007). Pre-op and post-op DCNVA is 0.42 ± 0.26 logMAR (Snellen 0.38) and 0.34 ± 0.26 logMAR (Snellen 0.45) (p=0.175) Pre-op and post-op near-corrected (40cm) mean stereo-acuity was 47 and 59 seconds of arc (p=0.214). Post-op uncorrected mean stereo-acuity was 103 seconds of arc. No eyes lost two lines.
Conclusions
PRESBYOND laser-blended vision (LBV) achieved good binocular distance, intermediate and near vision while maintaining functional stereo-acuity in this 3-month follow-up case series. DCIVA significantly improved after PRESBYOND laser correction. PRESBYOND is a safe and effective option for presbyopia correction.
