Purpose
To assess subclinical inflammation measured with a noninvasive method to quantify anterior chamber (AC) inflammation in patients underwent cataract surgery.
Setting
Methods
The number of hyper-reflective dots representing AC cells and optical density ratio (aqueous-to-air relative intensity [ARI] index) for flare quantification were calculated from AS-OCT images. ARI index and AC cells were calculated in eye that had cataract surgery, before (T0), after 2 hours (T1) and the second day (T2). The values were compared with a control group represented by the fellow eye.
Results
Conclusions
AS-OCT system may be used to detect inflammation through a noninvasive method to quantify AC inflammation in eyes underwent cataract surgery.
