Purpose

The Light Adjustable Lens has become a popular choice for many patients undergoing cataract surgery.  A new version of the Light Adjustable lens is now available, the LAL Plus.  This lens is designed to give additional range of vision. The purpose of this abstract is to determine if the LAL Plus lens provides more range of vision than the standard LAL lens by comparing the distance, intermediate, and near vision of 10 eyes implanted with the standard LAL lens set for distance vision to 10 eyes with the LAL Plus lens set for distance vision.

Setting

All data was obtained in the clinical setting for Empire Eye Physicians, Spokane WA. USA.

Methods

Data from a total of 20 eyes is to be presented. A retrospective review of 5 patients that have undergone cataract surgery with a standard LAL lens in each eye will be compared to 5 patients that will recieve the LAL Plus lens in each eye at the time of cataract surgery. A comparison of monocular and binocular BCDVA, UCDVA, UCIVA (66cm) and UCNVA (40cm) will be presented.

Results

Data is currently being compiled. Results are pending and will be presented at the meeting presentation.

Conclusions

Conclusions based on the findings presented will be made at the time of the presentation.
