Comparison Of Visual Quality Between Visumax 500 And Visumax 800

To compare visual quality of SMILE ( visumax 500, zeiss ) and SMILE PRO ( visumax 800, zeiss )

An analysis of visual quality after SMILE operation with 2 different device ( Visumax 500, Visumax 800 ) was performed. Refractive error at postoperative day 1 was measured. OSI indices at postoperative day 1 was measured. And corneal aberration was measured at postoperative day 1month. Glare and halo were measured at postoperative day 1month. 

Enrolled eye were 70 of visumax 500 and 76 of visumax 800. Preoperative character were very similar and there are no difference. Postoperative refractive error were also very similar and there were no statistical difference.

Postoperative OSI at day 1 was better result in visumax 800 ( 1.24 vs 0.96 , p=0.005 ) And vertical coma aberration at postoperative day 1month was better result in visumax 800 ( -0.24 vs -0.07, p = 0.002 ). In case of  total RMS , glare and halo, there were no statistically difference. 

SMILE operation using Visumax 500 and Visumax 800 were very good visual result. But immediate postoperative visual recovery and visual quality after 1month were better in Visumax 800.
