Purpose
the aim of this case series to evaluate clinical outcome of patient with poor ocular surface who had previous penetrating keratoplasty and developed Post operative corneal epithelial plaques after delayed healing
Setting
at elsafwa eye vision center Alexandria
Methods
this is a prospective case series of 5 patients with post keratoplasty delayed healing and plaque depositiom .under sedation scrapping of white plaque and suturing fresh amniotic membrane in layers was done using 8 zero absorbable sutures at the limbus
Results
at 1 month after surgery only one patient developed recurrence .4 cases achieved a clear cornea .no cases of infection was reported
Conclusions
amniotic membrane transplantation may be an effective treatment for posy kerayoplasty epithelial plaques
