Purpose
To report the emerging clinical outcomes including complications, post-operative visual acuity, and refractive outcome data after small incision phacoemulsification surgery with implantation of the new AT ELANA® 841P trifocal IOL.
Setting
Optegra Eye Hospital, London
Methods
A retrospective audit of the clinical outcomes of 20 consecutive procedures from 10 patients (mean age 58+/-5 years) following implantation of an AT ELANA® 841P trifocal IOL was performed between January 2023 and December 2023. Data were recorded in an electronic medical record at up to 3 months post-operatively. Procedures were excluded from the visual analysis if there were reasons for a guarded visual prognosis such as amblyopia or AMD.
Results
Outcomes data available for 20 eyes were eligible for inclusion. No operative complications were recorded. 100% of eyes achieved binocular UDVA 20/40 or better and 79% achieved UDVA 20/20 or better. 100% of patients achieved N8 or better at near. 100% of eyes had a mean SEQ refraction within ±1.00D of predicted target.
Conclusions
Conclusions (max 100 words): Our data show that the emerging clinical outcomes were favourable for this cohort overall. Data collection and analysis are ongoing and final follow up data will be reported in due course.
