Experience Of Using Rho Kinase Inhibitor Eye Drop In Corneal Edema At Tertiary Care Hospital In Thailand.

All of corneal disease patients who using Rho kinase inhibitor eye drop patients were included from retrospective chart review. Demographic data were collected by main diagnosis, age, co-morbidities, day of start, dosage, visual acuity (VA), intraocular pressure (IOP), central corneal thickness (CCT), endothelial cell count (EEC), coefficient of variation (CV), percentage of hexagonal (%Hexa) and drug tolerant. The study was analyzed by percent of success by clinical response.

46 eyes were selected, including Pseudophakia bullous keratopathy (PBK)(32.6%), Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD)(30.4%), Corneal decompensation(17.4%), Descemet membrane detachment(8.7%), Graft rejection(6.5%) and Endotheliitis (4.3%). An average age was 68.8 years. Baselines were VA (logMar 1.35), CCT (635.7µm). At first visit (means 37 days), clinical showed as VA (logMar 1.31), CCT (593.2µm), drug intolerant 10 eyes and percent of success 43 in 46 eyes (93.5%). At 6 months (means 207 days) clinical showed as VA (logMar 0.9), CCT (585.8µm) and drug intolerant 3 eyes. Subgroup for percent of success were showed as Endotheliitis (100%), PBK (81.8-100%), Corneal decompensation (75-100%) and FECD (66.7-100%).

Rho kinase inhibitor eye drop may have role for treatment corneal edema condition, corneal thickness was trend to decrease in 1-3 months and stable at 6 months. Corneal endotheliitis, PBK and Corneal decompensation due to multiple surgery were good response. Drug intolerant and adverse effect should be observed.
