Purpose
To investigate visual outcomes of a new monofocal IOL (Clareon SY60WF) implantation in age-related cataract patients with previous myopic corneal refractive surgery.
Setting
Methods
This study included 60 eyes from 30 age-related cataract patients with previous myopic corneal refractive surgery (LASIK) and Clareon monofocal IOL bilateral implantation. Monocular and binocular uncorrected distanced visual acuity(UDVA, 5m) and best corrected distanced visual acuity (BCDVA, 5m), distance-corrected intermediate visual acuity (DCIVA, 80cm and 66cm), manifest refraction, patient satisfaction (VF-14 questionnaire) were assessed at 3-month post-op.
Results
At 3 months postoperatively, the mean binocular UDVA and BCDVA were 0.07±0.06 and 0.02±0.03 logMAR respectively. The mean binocular DCIVA were 0.17±0.08 logMAR at 80 cm, and 0.19±0.09 logMAR at 66 cm. The mean monocular UDVA and BCDVA were 0.11±0.07 and 0.05±0.04 logMAR respectively. The mean monocular DCIVA were 0.21±0.12 logMAR at 80 cm, and 0.23±0.13 logMAR at 66 cm. The mean postoperative spherical equivalent was -0.43 ± 0.68D. Mean composite score of the VF-14 questionnaire was 92.46 ± 8.37 out of 100. All patients did not experience photic phenomena.
Conclusions
Clareon monofocal IOL implantation in cataract patients with previous myopic corneal refractive surgery achieved good distance visual acuity.
