Purpose
To provide first refractive and visual acuity outcomes on subjects implanted monocularly or binocularly with RayOne EMV (RAO 200E) and RayOne EMV Toric (RAO210T) enhanced monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) in a real-world setup in India.
Setting
The International Eye Centre,Mumbai
Methods
In this ongoing real-world data collection 70 eyes are planned to be enrolled by the time of the ESCRS presentation. RayOne EMV was implanted if the residual astigmatism was <0.5D. Otherwise RayOne EMV Toric was preferred. The biometry and IOL power calculation was performed with the IOLMaster 700 swept source biometer. The following parameters were analyzed: Manifest refraction, incl. spherical equivalent (SE), Uncorrected Distance Visual Acuity (UDVA) at 6m, Distance Corrected Distance Visual Acuity (CDVA), Uncorrected Intermediate Visual Acuity (UIVA) at 60cm and Uncorrected Near Visual Acuity (UNVA) at 35cm. All visual acuity data were assessed monocularly and binocularly.
Results
Preliminary 36 eyes of 21 subjects have been included with EMV in 23 eyes and EMV Toric in 13 eyes followed up at 1 month and 20 eyes of 12 subjects at 3 months postoperatively. SE decreased from -1.05±2.96 D (preop) to -0.31±0.47 D (1M) and -0.31±0.57 D (3M), respectively. Mono- and binocular CDVA statistically improved (p<.001) from baseline 0.20±0.27 and 0.19±0.20 logMAR to 0.02±0.06 and 0.03±0.09 logMAR (1M) and 0.01±0.04 and 0.02±0.06 logMAR (3M), respectively. Binocular outcomes are 0.69±0.44 (preop), 0.10±0.17 (1M) and 0.07±0.09 logMAR (3M), respectively. 78% of the eyes achieved a monocular UIVA of ≤N8 (0.0 logMAR) at 1M (75% at 3M) and 89% of the eyes achieved a monocular UNVA of ≤N10 (0.5 logMAR) at 1M (70% at 3M).
