Bilateral Cataract Monovision Surgery In A 54 -Year-Old Woman Following Presbyond Lbv

Bilateral Cataract surgery with mini monovision strategy following Presbyond Laser blended vision treatment.

To describe a case of presbyond Laser blended vision (LBV) in a  54 -year-old woman followed by bilateral cataract surgery after five years using mini monovision strategy .

A 54 year woman underwent bilateral presbyond LBV treatment for correction of presbyopia . Five years later she developed senile immature  cataract  of  early grade nuclear sclerosis  with posterior subcapsular cataract. The preoperative uncorrected refraction  before presbyond LBV was +1.25 DS +0.50DC at 170 in right eye and +1.25 DS in left eye . With this subjective refraction patients vision was 6/9 (p) in both eyes for distance and N6 for near vision with + 3.25 DS . The preoperative refraction before monovision cataract surgery was +0.50 in the right eye and-1.25 in the left eye.Right was the dominant eye and  left was the nondominant eye with a target -1.25 residual refraction .  In both eyes monovision cataract surgery was carried out  on 5^th and 8^th September , 2023 with +22.5 and +24.0 preloaded Zeiss CT Lucia lens  in right and left eye respectively.  Vision was 6/7.5 on post op day 15 with -0.25 DS -0.50 DC at 110  refraction in the right eye .Vision 6/6(P) was achieved in  the left eye with -1.75 DS -0.50 DC at 15 .Near vision of N6 and N5 was achieved in right and left eye respectively .On the last examination, the uncorrected distance visual acuity was  6/6 (P)  in the right eye with a refraction of -0.25 DS -0.25 DC at 165 and 6/6  in the left eye with a refraction of -1.50 DS 0.75 DC at 180 , whereas the visual acuity for reading was N6 binocularly.

The patient was able to achieve excellent vision for distance , intermediate and near following presbyond Laser blended vision  surgery after bilateral cataract surgery was performed using monofocal lens .
