A Comparative Study Of Differences Between Ccbi And Cbi, Ctbi And Tbi In The Chinese Population

Purpose
Compare the differences of CBI and cCBI, TBI and cTBI in Chinese populations, and explore their influencing factors.
Setting
Differences in ocular measurements due to racial differences have been extensively studied, while differences in corneal biomechanical parameters between Chinese and other ethnic groups are rarely reported.The diagnosis of cCBI and cTBI optimized for the Chinese population in keratoconus is better than that of CBI and TBI, but the differences between the old and new versions and their diagnostic value in refractive surgery need to be further studied.
Methods
A total of 829 myopia patients (829 eyes) who underwent corneal refractive surgery for more than 1 year in Chongqing Baiji Ophthalmology were collected, and the right eye was selected for inclusion in the study. Corneal morphology and biomechanical parameters were measured by Pentacam and Corvis ST (OCULUS, Germany). Compared differences between CBI and cCBI or TBI and cTBI, and analyzed their correlations with central corneal thickness (CCT), white to white (WTW), corneal morphology, and age.
Results
The CBI (0.39±0.22) was higher than that of cCBI (0.11±0.20), and TBI (0.27±0.24) was higher than that of cTBI (0.09±0.13) (P<0.01). CBI was negatively related with CCT and WTW (r=-0.685, -0.144, P<0.01), cCBI was negatively related with CCT and WTW (r=-0.476, -0.182, P<0.01). There was no correlation between CBI and cCBI and corneal morphology and age (P>0.05).TBI was negatively related with CCT, WTW, and age (r=-0.523, -0.125, -0.150, P<0.01), and cTBI was negatively related with CCT, WTW, and age (r=-0.471, -0.092, -0.069, P<0.05). There was negatively related with corneal morphology when the difference between TBI and cTBI was greater than 0.4 (r=-0.281, P<0.01).
Conclusions
In the Chinese population, cCBI and cTBI were lower than CBI and TBI, and the use of cCBI and cTBI in China could reduce false positives caused by racial differences. CCT, WTW, age and corneal morphology have a certain degree of influence on cCBI、cTBI、CBI and TBI.
