Setting

Single center

Methods

Case 1 was a 27 years old woman who presented with pain and corneal infiltrates in the left eye 36 hours after eye trauma. She had undergone bilateral LASIK 1 week prior. The condition worsened despite treatment and a flap amputation was performed.

Case 2 Sudden Release of suction ring with incomplete irregular missing part inside the head of the microkeratome and repositioning was done successfully.

Results

Case 1 keratitis resolved after 8 weeks and patient UCVA Reached 0.5 with minimal stromal haze

Case 2 Reached preoperative Refraction and planned for TransPRK after 3 Months.

Conclusions

LASIK Flap related complications may occur either intraoperative or postoperative. Early Diagnosis and good management can result in minimal or even no affection on the end result of LASIK Surgery.
