Purpose
To utilise the increasing presence of social media and short 1 minute educational videos in medical/ophthalmic education
Setting
University/undergraduate setting
Methods
Medical student undergraduates were surveyed on their ability to assess the anterior chamber depth with and without a slit lamp and pen torch.
Students were then shown a 1 minute video on a social media platform and resurveyed.

Video available
Results
All participants reported increased confidence on anterior chamber depth assessment.
All participants reported using social media as a resource for medical and ophthalmic education.
Conclusions
Social media is a medium increasingly used for medical and ophthalmic education
This presents a unique and evolving opportunity for teaching, using short, clear and concise learning points.
Participants confidence in clinical examination is improved after watching videos.
