Purpose
To show that treating hyperopic residual refractions and presbyopia after Lasik by changing the corneal shape (Q Walue) with intrastromal fresh myopic lenticule implantation using the SMILE module is an effective and safe technique.
Setting
Eye Hospital,Pristina,Kosovo
Methods
This included 64 eyes of 32 patients (38-55 years old)
Postop Lasik hypermetropic residual refraction was included.
Patients had residual hypermetropia between +0.75 and +5.50D
Astigmatism between +0.75 and +2.75 D. A 2 mm incision was made with the Smile module, a 7.60 mm intrastromal pocket was prepared, and an appropriate lenticule was implanted for each eye.
Results
The patients were followed for an average of 1 year.UDVA was increased from (preop 0.66±0.08 LogMAR to postop at 12 months (0.07±0.05 LogMAR; p<0.001).UNVA (35cm) was increased that, preop from 7J to 2 J 1-year postop, it was statistically significant (p<0.001).
