Purpose
To evaluate and compare the post-operative outcome of two different IOL models (ZA9003, J&J, USA and PU6AS, Kowa, Japan) using the Yamane technique.
Setting
Kepler University Clinic, Ophthalmology department, Linz, Austria
Methods
Results
In total, 40 patients were included in this study.
Preliminary data shows a difference regarding mean absolute tilt (Group A: 8.84±3.92° and Group B: 6.50±3.70 °). Mean absolute decentration was lower in group B than group A (0.43±0.22 mm versus 0.54±0.44 mm, respectively). The postoperative ACD in group A was higher compared to group B (5.45±0.43 mm versus 5.26±0.31 mm). Group A provided a lower mean absolute error (0.73±0.89 versus 1.18±0.92), as well as a better best corrected distance visual acuity (BCDVA) (0.04±0.20 logMAR vs. 0.24±0.43 logMAR).
Conclusion
Group B seems to provide more stable results in terms of tilt as well as decentration, however with a lager mean absolute error as well as a lower BCDVA. A larger data-set will be presented at the meeting.
