Purpose
This study aimed to assess contrast sensitivity in patients undergoing a novel intrastromal lenticular procedure Silk.
Setting
University Eye Clinic Svjetlost, Zagreb, Croatia
Methods
Contrast sensitivity testing was performed using the industry standard Automated ETDRS CTS suite (M&S Technologies, Niles, USA).
Results
We analysed 60 eyes from 30 patients, data was compiled and compared to baseline - preoperative BCVA testing and additional testing was done on POW1, POM1 and POM3. All results indicate a very good contrast sensitivity profile of the novel procedure.
Conclusions
Our early findings suggest great promise for Elita and Silk, with good efficacy and safety profiles, as well as very good contrast sensitivity results and very good corelation between objective tests and a subjective contrast sensitivity test.
