Application Of Visual Training In Laser Corneal Refractive Surgery With Monovision Design

Purpose

To explore the application of visual training in monovision design refractive surgery by evaluating the score of the Quality of Life (QOL) after refractive surgery.

Setting

uppercasr and lowercasr alphabet,plus-minus flipper training

Methods

A prospective clinical controlled study. Sixty patients  planned to receive monovision design were divided into training group and control group  according to whether they received visual training after surgery. The age,  the reserved diopter, were no significant difference of the two groups . The training group began visual training at 1 week after the operation, including 5 minutes of lens reading , 10 minutes of plus-minus flipper training, and 5 minutes of uppercasr and lowercasr alphabet reading in both eyes ever day. The Chinese version of the Quality of Life impact of refractive correction was used to investigate.And compare the QOL scores of patients in the two groups preoperation and 1 month and 3 months after operation.

Results

There was statistical difference in the scores of the QOL at 1 month after the operation between the training group and the control group (P<0.05) . The difference in QOL scores at 3 months after the operation was no statistical significance(P>0.05). The QOL scores at 3 months after the operation of the two groups were higher than reoperation .

Conclusions

Refractive surgery with monovision design can delay the time of age-related accommodation deficiency , but a period of adaptation is required after surgery. Effective visual training after surgery is expected to shorten the adaptation period and improve the quality of life of patients after surgery.
