Purpose
To evaluate our clinical outcomes obtained after cataract surgery with implantation of a new diffractive multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) : Optivis (Aaren scientific)
Setting
Retrospective single-center study
Methods
Retrospective study of patients who underwent cataract surgery with bilateral implantation of a diffractive multifocal intraocular lens : Optivis IOL.
Postoperative Uncorrected Distance and Near Visual Acuity, subjective refraction, were measured. Age, gender, correction, optical biometry, keratometry, HOA, chord mu and refractive target were collected preoperatively.
Results
80 eyes of 40 patients ( inclusion still on going) (mean age: 61 years) were evaluated, the median follow-up time is 6 months.
30 days after surgery, the mean post operative uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) were 0.15 LogMar ± 0.13 in monocular and 0.06 LogMar ± 0.07 in binocular. The mean post operative uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA) were 0.1± 0.15 LogMar in monocular and 0.08 ± 0.09 LogMar in binocular. A total of 80% and 90% of eyes archieved 0.1 LogMar Monocular and binocular UNVA or better. 90% of patients don’t have a near vision addition
We will present the results of the multivariate analysis which determine physiological factors which could influence post operative results with this IOL .
Conclusions
The present study suggests that the use of the Optivis IOL provides good visual acuity for far and near vision and accurate refractive outcomes.
