Purpose

To report emerging clinical outcomes including complications, post-operative visual acuity, and refractive outcome data laser vision correction using the new Zeiss Quatera 700 platform

Setting

Optegra Eye Hospital London

Methods

A retrospective, non-comparative case series, single centre audit of all cataract procedures undertaken with the Zeiss Quatera 700 (Zeiss, Germany) between April 2022 and December 2022 was conducted. Data audited were recorded in the Medisoft electronic medical record.

Results

Results from 45 eyes, 23 patients (13 females and 10 males) were included. Mean patient age was 64 ± 9.7 years. No operative complications were reported and surgeon feedback was generally positive. 98% of eyes achieved 20/40 or better and 78% of eyes achieved 20/20 or better.  In all 96% of eyes had a SEQ within ±1.00D of predicted target, in line with benchmark findings from other platforms used in our setting.

Conclusions

Emerging data show that the Zeiss Quatera had low operative complication rates and that post operative visual and refractive outcomes were of an excellent standard. Data on key phaco metrics are being analysed and will be reported in due course.
