evaluation of optical performance and visual outcomes, in patients having bilateral surgerywith a hydrophobic IOL with blue light (yello chromophore) filter, patented cornerstone design ad microincision techinuque 2.2 mm
ASST FRANCIACORTA – Ospedale di Chiari (BS) Italy - Single site study
Bilateral cataract surgery patients, targeted with post-op 0.00D to -0.50D with evaluations of visual
outcomes of 20 eyes at 1 week, 1 months and 3 months.
Post-op refraction:
Post-op refraction at 1 week was -0.75 ±0.25D
Post-op refraction at 1 month was -0.50 ± 0.40D
Post-op refraction at 3 month was -0.25 ±0.25D
No difference in terms of contrast sensitivity compared with a standard monofocal IOL
No reported Glistening and/or PCO
No anteriorization and/or dislocation of IOL probably thanks to the special ‘Corner stone’
shape of the optic design.
Not significant IOP increased 1 month after implantation.
The result of the study shows a reliable hydrophobic IOL in terms of optical design and material. All
patients achived a high finalized on a very good quality of vision. The IOL design with cornerstones
provided an excellent stability in the capsular bag and of the Amon-Apple enhanced square edge on
the posterior optic surface provides a reliable barrier against PCO.
