To evaluate the effect of the treatment of dry eye disease by plasma emission by non-ablative treatment (Jett Plasma Lift Medical II) by DA-3 Expert Ocular Surface Analyzer (Sunkingdom Medical Instrument Co.). Based on the physical principle of direct current, the device performs membrane depolarisation and reversible electroporation and generates heat. DA-3 analyser is a professional dry eye examination equipment with full automatic AI software and quantification of testing standards.
Prospective, multicentre, observational study.
Patients are treated with plasma emission by a silver applicator by acceptable intensity (1-6) four times (spacing after one week), followed by follow-up after one week (1st check-up), one month (2nd check-up), and three months (3rd check-up).
The primary objective is to evaluate the changes in the OSDI index, tear meniscus height, NIBUT, Meibomian gland opening, Meibomian gland analysis by AI auto quantitative analyser, lipid layer analysis and corneal staining analysis. DA-3 Expert Ocular Surface Analyzer provides the commentary.
Other goals are to verify the treatment’s safety and monitor side effects.
The results will be presented by using the statistical evaluation and comprehensive reports before and after the treatment by plasma emission.
This study evaluates the effects of treatment with the medical device JETT PLASMA LIFT MEDICAL II with silver applicators to alleviate the condition or ultimately cure blepharitis, Meibomian gland dysfunction indication, and associated dry eye disease by objective DA-3 analyser and subjective evaluation by patients.
