Corneal keratopigmentation (KTP), or corneal tattooing, has been used as a method to change the color and improve the cosmetic appearance of the eye. It can be used to hide corneal scars or iris defects. It can also be used to improve cosmesis in corneal opacity in a blind eye. Currently, we have three main surgical techniques: stromal micropuncture, double lamellar bag and femto-second-assisted keratopigmentation. The purpose of this report is to show how this procedure can change the patient's self-esteem.

 Public University Hospital

We report a case of the corneal pigmentation technique influencing the self-esteem of a patient with white eye. A 59-year-old patient with total leucoma and amaurosis in the right eye due to glaucoma secondary to Herpes Zooster infection had a major complaint of cosmetic impairment in that eye. The attempt to wear a cosmetic contact lens was frustrated by the irregularity of the cornea. We then performed stromal keratopigmentation with an excellent aesthetic result and an important change in the patient's personality, with a significant increase in self-esteem.

Keratopigmentation is a safe surgical procedure and can avoid more extensive and invasive ocular reconstructive procedures, and it has a great influence on improving patients' self-esteem.
