Health Bridges  Hospital, Ophthalmology Departemente - Lokomasama - Sierra Leone

An 18-year-old African boy came to the visitor center, reporting difficulty with vision, burning in his right eye, tearing, and noticing a mass in his eye that had grown over time.

On slit-lamp examination, a mass was visible upper whitish-yellow, about 7-8 mm in diameter, with hairs up on in's the surface.

surgiccal excision was planned and performed the day after.

surgical excision showed an highy penetrating tuomor in the stroma, however complete excision of the mass wass possible.

Cyst growth can bring focal mass effects to the eye causing cosmetic deformities, mechanical ptosis, proptosis, and visual changes such as astigmatism due to the mechanical traction performed by the cyst.

surgical excision of Corneal demroid may be performed even if challanging to prevent further Eye suerface disorders ecpecially in poor health  and socio ecomoic conditions when possible.
