To treat a 8 year old boy of Amblyopia and high myopia - who didn't improved with occlusion by using Orthoptek Magnocellular Stimulator. 

Orthoptek Magnocellular Stimulator works on the peripheral Parvocellular bipolar cells followed by synaptic-transmission at level 4c of the occipital cortex. The two types of exercise is to be done for 60 mins everyday of the week followed by alternate days and total 10 sessions minimum.  

An 8 year old boy with left eye ,high unilateral myopia of  - 8.0 DS - 3.0 DC at 180 degree anisometric amblyopic patient came to our OPD. He had undergone occlusion and patching for more than a year but showed no improvement. His Best Corrected Visual Acuity was finger counting , left eye suppression and no binocular single vision. We started Orthoptek treatment for him for 3 months. Contact lens was given due to high power. After 3 months vision improved to 6/6P left eye and 40 secs of stereopsis .

Orthoptek magnocellular stimulator is a novel and revolutionary treatment for the most difficult of amblyopia patients.Exercise can be done in any ocular - clinic under guidance of any ophthalmologist or an optometrist. This innovation eill surely change the future of amblyopia management and can be used in partial optic atrophy and strabismic amblyopia also.
