IOL opacification, capsular bag fibrosis and dislocation of IOL are the most often complications in postoperative period after cataract surgery. Surgical correction of IOL is only single method of vision restoration.
To assess effectiveness of surgical management of patients with opacification and dislocation of IOL.
1. Opacification of IOL. Patient after cataract surgery on right eye 9 years ago (hydrophilic IOL). Vision after operation 10/10. Decrease of vision last 2 years. Eye examination: Vis.OD=4/100. Reason of pour vision - IOL's opacification. Surgical technique: Explantation of IOL from capsular bag into the anterior chamber, cutting of IOL, explantation of IOL’s fragments - incision 2,4mm. Implantation of hydrophobic IOL into the capsular bag. Vis.OD=10/10
2. Capsular fibrosis and dislocation of IOL. Patient after cataract surgery on right eye 7 years ago. Vision after operation 7/10. Acute decrease of vision 2 weeks ago. Eye examination: Vis.OD=7/100, dislocation of IOL in capsular bag. Surgical technique: Implantation of maintainer of capsular bag (Model Sergienko), correction of IOL's position, suturing of maintainer to the sclera. Vis.OD=13/20
3. Capsular fibrosis and dislocation of IOL. Patient after cataract surgery on right eye 5 years ago. Vision after operation 9/10. Acute decrease of vision 1 weeks ago. Eye examination: Vis.OD=3/100, dislocation of IOL in capsular bag. Surgical technique: Suturing of IOL in capsular bag for the upper haptic to the iris. Vis.OD=8/10
IOL exchange in case of opacification, and reposition of IOL with suturing in case of dislocation are effective methods of surgical correction and restoring of vision.
