To describe the debridement of CIRCLE software for the therapy of complication after small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE).

Department of Refractive Surgery,Chongqing Aier Eye Hospital,Chongqing, China

One patient was referred for consultation and treatment due to epithelial implantation after SMILE. Case presented with lamellar cream-like opacities near the visual axis on slitlamp examination and anterior segment optical coherence tomography. The patient was treated using the CIRCLE software by converting the cap into a flap and eliminating the epithelial nidus. After lifting the flap the interlaminar epithelial tissue was scraped, the case showed significant improvement in uncorrected distance visual acuity after repair surgery. Long-term follow-up showed no recurrence.

CIRCLE software may be successfully assist in the removal of corneal epithelial implantation lesions after SMILE.
