TOPO GUIDED LASIK SURGERY COMPARING EX 500 WITH MEL 90 LASER SYSTEMS

Purpose
To compare the topo guided lasik procedures on Ex 500 and Mel 90 excimer systems
Setting
Tertiary eye care center India
Methods
20 eye each wer operated using two different systems and compared regarding the image capturing and surgical results in them
Results
preoperative capturing of the images were possible by great difficulty in Ex 500 system and took about 15 mins in each patient on all eyes compared to 1 minute in each eye for mel 90 system which was mandatiory for Topo guided lasik surgery
Post operative results were similar in all eyes .
Conclusion
The topt guided using Mel 90 with easy capturing of preoperative topo images makes it more convienent to use in comparision to (Contura ) of Alcon .
