Purpose

To introduce a refractive mindset in treatment of keratoconus aiming for unaided vision endpoints

Setting

Gulani Vision Institute, Jacksonville, FL

Methods

Patients with stable and refractively measureable Keratoconus beyond 20/40 underwent vision corrective surgeries like LaZrplastique, LenzOplastique, ICL, Intacs and Crosslinking in  single or staged approach using this new algorithm.

Results

This new algorithm allows allocation of vision corrective surgical options in single or staged approaches for unaided vision outcomes in selected Keratoconus candidates

Conclusion

A Refractive approach in stable and measurable keratoconous is a paradigm shift beyond leaving keratoconus patients dependent on contact lenses while providing them unaided vision freedom.
