REAL-WORLD EVALUTION OF A PRESBYOPIA-CORRECTING MULIFOCAL INTRAOCULAR LENS COMBINED WITH EXTENDED DEPTH OF FOCUS (EDOF) .

To evaluate  the visual outcomes, complications and patient satisfaction after implantation f a presbyopia-corecting Intraocular Lens which combines a multifocal diffractive and extended the depth of focus (EDOF) profile (TECNIS SYNERGY ZFR00V Johnson& Johnson Vision)

251 eyes of 152 patients  implanted  ZFR00V IOL between Janury 20121-January 2022. Medical records of visual acuity for   distance , near and intermediate , postoerative refractive errors, complication  recorded. Also at 5 and 10 meters disance far vision was measured out of the examination room to determine the real world adoption. Patient-recorded visual performance and quality questionnaries was administered to measure satisfaction  with the surgical results. 

 Minimally followed 3 months 99 patients (198 eyes) binocularly and 53 patients monocularly  received ZFR00V IOL enrolledin this retrospective resarch.

Uncorrected distance (4 meters) , uncorrected near (35 cm) and intermediate visual acuity(60 cm) found as : 0,85±0,17, 0,90± 0,18, and 0,62± 0,1 respectively. % 16,4 (40 eyes) were very dissatisfied after the operation  and mostly complained about low quality of distance vision and car driving difficulties at night time.% 3,2 (5 eyes)had IOL exchange. LASIK refractive pocedure performed on 20 eyes (% 7,9)  for residual  refractive error effecting vision.  Early posterior capsule opasification observed with these patiens and YAG-Laser capsulotomy performd in first 3 months. % 31 (80 eyes )  in first 3 months

TECNIS SYNERGY IOprovide good near and intermediate vision. But  when low quality of vision for far in somepatients is a  an issue and hard to manage these patients. Before planning to implant this IOL patient selection, IOL calculation and informing important.
