Purpose
To evaluate our clinical outcomes obtained after cataract surgery with implantation of an intraocular lens with Continuous Transitional Focus (CTF) : Precizon Presbyopic NVA
Setting
Monocentric Study. Two Operators
Methods
Retrospective study of patients who underwent cataract surgery with bilateral implantation of a continuous transitional focus Precizon Presbyopic IOL.
Postoperative Uncorrected Distance and Near Visual Acuity, subjective refraction, binocular defocus curve and quality of vision and satisfaction questionnaires were measured. Age, gender, correction, optical biometry, keratometry, HOA, chord mu and refractive target were collected preoperatively.
Results
156 eyes of 78 patients (mean age: 63.1 years) were evaluated, the median follow-up time is 3.5 months. 30 days after surgery, the mean post operative uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) were 0.06 LogMar ± 0.11 in monocular and -0.02 LogMar ± 0.09 in binocular. The mean post operative uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA) were 0.27± 0.16 LogMar in monocular and 0.18 ± 0.12 LogMar in binocular. A total of 78% and 94.6% of eyes archieved 0.1 LogMar Monocular and binocular UNVA or better. 77% of patients have a near vision addition of 1.00D or less. In our study, the low UDVA would be due to the presence of a postoperative refractive error.
Defocus curve show that the Precizon Presbyopic NVA IOL was able to provide a Visual Acuity (VA) equal or better to 0.16 LogMar between defocus levels of +0.50D to -2.50D.
A total of 12% of patients reported disturbing halos and glare. The satisfaction questionnaire revealed that 66.7% of patients were very satisfied in general with their visual results
Conclusion
The NVA1 provides very good resulst in functional vision with minimisation of photic phenomenas with a very high satisfaction for patients.
