Purpose
To evaluate the new Artificial Intelligence Algorithm formula Hoffer QST and compare its accuracy to those of the latest new well-established IOL power formulas
Setting
Multiple data collection sites to collect biometry details on cataract eyes.
Methods
Following recommended protocol guidelines for analyzing the accuracy of various IOL power formulas most importantly zeroing out the mean error for each formula to eliminate the effect of the chosen lens constant..
Results
Reporting the results of the Hoffer QST formula and comparing with several other well-documented formulas in use today using the parameters of Median Absolute Error, Mean Absolute Error, Standard Deviation using the Heteroscedastic Method as well as percentages of eyes within ±0.25D, ±0.50D, ±0.75D and >1.00D.
Conclusions
The Hoffer QST Formula prediction accuracy is equal to or better than all the other formulas available today depending on which parameter is most important to the user.
