This case report reflects on a successful correction of the inadequate IOL monofocal cataract surgery with ADD-ON Toric IOL procedure. The main goal of this correction was achievement of the best visual acuity. On the other eye with the presenile cataract MFIOL procedure has been performed.
A 35-year old male patient with poor visual acuity in both eyes was admitted at our Department for clinical exam. The cataract surgery was performed on the right eye with a preoperative uncorrected visual acuity of 0.1 cc, +2.0 sphere and +1.0 cylinder with an axis of 120° resulting ina a visual acuity of 0.95 and an intent in correcting the remaining error. The left eye had a corrected visual acuity of 0.4 due to the presenile cataract. Patient had cataract surgery on the right eye 1.5 years ago. For the right eye we performed ADD-ON Toric lens implantation since fibrosus capsule has been formed.
The postoperative farsighted visual acuity of the right eye is1.0; J2, and for the left eye farsighted visual acuity is 1.0; J1.
The multiple types of the intraocular lenses with an adequate IOL procedure type results in the best visual acuity and highest degree of the funcionality in young patients.
