Methods
Exclusion criteria were postoperative best corrected visual acuity less than 0.8 LogMAR, and any intraoperative complication.
Patients’ evaluation included distance corrected and uncorrected visual acuity (DCVA, DUCVA), and near corrected and uncorrected visual acuity (NCVA, NUCVA), refraction and standard defocus curve. a patient questionnaire was used assess patients’ satisfaction.
Results
Postoperatively, the mean DCVA was 0.04 (0.0-0.1) LogMAR, NCVA was 0.06 (0.0-0.4) LogMAR, DUCVA and NUCVA were 0.07 (0.0-0.2) and 0.4 (0.0-0.4) LogMAR, respectively.
A mean VA of 0.1(0.0-0.2) LogMAR was measured at a -1.0D and -1.5D defocus (corresponds to intermediate distance). Mean VA was 0.1 (0.0-0.5) LogMAR with a -2.5D defocus (near vision).
Using a questionnaire to assess patients’ satisfaction, most patients stated they have no difficulties performing tasks that require both near and distance vision.
two patients subjectively reported positive dysphotopsias
