Rayner launched its fully preloaded RayOne Trifocal Toric IOL at the 37th ESCRS Congress in Paris, France. “At Rayner, we only focus on visual outcomes and aim to offer the best. Our trifocal technology has become the lens of choice for many surgeons thanks to its low light loss and reduced dysphotopsia. The missing piece of the jigsaw has been to have the same tried and tested technology for astigmatic patients,” said Tim Clover, Rayner CEO. Mr Allon Barsam, Medical Director and Founder of Ophthalmic Consultants of London (UK) implanted the world’s first RayOne Trifocal Toric on 15 July 2019. “It is great to be the first centre in the world to implant Rayner’s latest high technology offering,” he said. “Ethical innovation requires a careful balance ensuring patients have access to the latest and also safest technology once thorough R&D has been completed. A multi-centre pilot study across Japan, Germany and the UK reported high patient satisfaction, spectacle independence at all distances and high cylinder reduction after the first week. The uncorrected distance visual acuity was reported as 0.00 ± 0.09, intermediate at -0.03 ± 0.05 and near at 0.05 ± 0.05. All surgeons involved in the study reported a high level of product satisfaction, said Rayner. https://rayner.com/
