Standards for Ocular Toxicology and Inflammation “Standards for Ocular Toxicology and Inflammation” (Springer), edited by Drs Gilger, Cook & Brown is “an international effort to standardize the language, terms and methods used in ocular pharmacology and toxicology”. This refers to the efforts to help improve the drug development process, both during early testing on laboratory animals and later, in the context of ocular findings during the development programmes of new drugs and devices. The book includes many photographs that highlight how potential toxicological findings can appear, as well as pointers on how to best describe them for others. The book is intended for the medical industry, pharmaceutical companies and employees of governmental agencies who all work together to help develop new therapeutics for ophthalmology.
