Long axial length normative database

NIDEK has launched the long axial length normative database, which is software for use with its RS-3000 optical coherence tomography series. “This normative database is designed to assist clinicians in diagnosing macular diseases and glaucoma and was developed based with data from normal eyes (free of ocular pathology) with long axial length,” said a company spokesman. “Data was collected from Asian cases by measuring the macular area in 3-D to obtain retinal thickness values, such as full retinal and [NFL+GCL+IPL] thickness, which is important for the diagnosis of macular diseases and glaucoma,” he said.
